Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is perfect for photographers who have a passion for landscape photography and want to take their skills to the next level.
During one full day, we will visit up to three carefully selected locations, allowing us to work with a wide variety of landscapes and conditions. Visiting multiple locations gives you the chance to practice different techniques and learn how to adapt to changing light, weather, and scenery.
We will head into nature together and I will share all my tips and tricks on:
Sunrise photography
Long exposures
Composition
Camera settings
Using filters
Finding strong subjects in any environment
This workshop is suitable for photographers who already understand the basics (ISO, shutter speed, aperture, and white balance). Because we will be working in natural environments, good walking skills are required, as the terrain can be steep or slippery at times.
To ensure personal guidance, the workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 participants. Places are limited, so please contact me as soon as possible if you’re interested.
What do you need?
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses (recommended, though other cameras can work)
A selection of lenses (anything from 7–300mm can be useful)
Filters if you have them (ND, polariser, graduated filter)
Fully charged batteries (at least 2) and memory cards
A tripod (highly recommended)
Clothing suitable for the expected weather and terrain
Lunch is arranged by us, but please bring your own snacks and drinks for the rest of the day
Planning for the day
We will meet at the designated starting location. Upon arrival, I will welcome everyone with coffee, tea, and something tasty. During this time, I will give a short theoretical introduction about what we’ll be photographing and how to approach it with your camera. This will take approximately 15–30 minutes, depending on questions.
Depending on the weather conditions, we will visit several locations such as:
Sunrise viewpoints
Small fast-flowing rivers
Dead trees
Boardwalks
Forests
Small lakes filled with grasses
And imagine all of this surrounded by beautiful autumn colours 🍂
Day schedule (approximate)

09:00 – 12:30 – Second location
13:00 – 14:00 – Lunch
14:00 – ±18:00 – Last location
18:00 – 18:15 – End of workshop
Please note: all times are indicative, as the schedule depends heavily on weather conditions. Some locations work best with clouds, others with sunshine—but this area always offers fantastic photographic opportunities, no matter the weather.
Important information

What people are saying
“Guido will learn you not to start shooting from the moment you arrive but take your time, look for leading lines, take time to setup your gear. This workshop has learned me to have patience and step away from the camera, take a few steps to the left or right. It gives you a better perspective and really beautiful photos to take home. Thanks Guido, till next time.”
“What an educational and fantastic day I had! In October, I and six others attended the autumn landscape photography workshop by Guido van de Water at the High Fens in Belgium. We were very lucky with the weather. Guido made us enthusiastic, included in his view on landscape photography at four different locations. I learned a lot by, among other things, learning to look differently/better to the composition, different learning to use shutter speeds to capture the effect of flowing water in different ways, to see the effect of different lenses and a polarizing filter, and in a beautiful setting with a delicious lunch. I definitely recommend it, I will go back someday to photograph the area again. Thank you, Guido, for this beautiful experience!”
